Frozen water and ice dams are damaging during cold and warm weather. TRC is there to remediate everything, including the roof, walls, ceilings and floors.
Frozen water expands, splits pipes and fittings. When the temperature warms, ice reverts to water like opening a valve on a water pipe resulting in instant water loss inside a wall.
Ice Dams lift and damage shingles, capping, facia boards, and can reach several feet back from the edge of the roof. When they get this far back, the next thaw releases water into the attic, resulting in interior water damage to insulation, walls, baseboards, carpets and furniture, anything that gets inthe way of this waterfall.
TRC is there to remediate all damage caused by frozen water and ice dams. We evaluate the structure itself as well as the surrounding exterior of any property to determine a remediation plan, including:
• Roof repair
• Drying walls
• Clean up
• Painting
• Repairing walls, ceilings and floors
• Landscaping
• Drainage
A quick drop in temperature can cause a yard to freeze solid. Then mild temperatures, melting snow and rain cause pools of water on properties because the water cannot soak down through the ground. The water accumulates and runs along the foundation of the house causing flooded basements. As water turns to ice, it expands and will move ANYTHING, including:
• lifting roofs
• getting between cracks and raising concrete slabs and/or porches
• pushing bricks and stone apart causing structural cracks
• blocking sump pump discharge pipes causing sump pump failure
TRC has encountered ice dams at 4-6" thick at the edge of the roof. Ice dams can be removed physically, chemically or by changing the surrounding environment and defrosting them.
